Dr. Thandavarajan Gopalakrishnan, called Dr. G. or Dr. Gopal by his patients and friends, graduated as valedictorian from Gurunanak Higher Secondary School (India) and received his medical degree at Madras Medical College (India). Dr. Gopal received specialized training at Rajiv Gandhi Govt. Gen Hospital (India) and in the U.K. before completing his residency in Internal Medicine in 1996 at Interfaith Hospital in New York. He then worked at a HIV specialty clinic for two years in New York and moved to Texas in 1998 where he worked briefly in the emergency room. In 2000, he started practicing at South Belt Medical Clinic. He has completed a board certification in Sleep Medicine. Also certified by the American Board of Wound Management, his special interest is in managing complicated wounds. He currently serves as Medical Director for Advanced Wound Care at HCA Southeast Hospital in Pasadena, TX. Dr. Gopal has more than twenty years of experience treating geriatric patients and currently serves as the Medical Director for Vista Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Pasadena, Texas, where he focuses on treating residents requiring long-term medical care, hospice, and palliative care. In addition, Dr. Gopal has successfully completed the American Board of Obesity Medicine and provides the most up-to-date weight management treatments for his patients.
